It was very important that this be posted. It’s so important, in fact, that I didn’t edit the footage at all. It’s just Ben blowing a shofar. We won’t really be able to upload long videos until we get out of Galilee. Hopefully we’ll have a better connection in a few days.

We’re Here!
I’m sitting in the lobby at The Seasons Netanya. We’re right by the Mediterranean Sea and it’s absurdly beautiful. We may post some pictures from last night if we have some time. We’ll be leaving this hotel and headed up to Galilee in about two hours. If we have internet access, we’ll post when we get there.

Bethany interviewed Emily and Jenni before we left to get their thoughts on the tour. We’ll try to get some more interviews while we’re in the land, but they probably won’t be uploaded until after we get back.

Hey everyone,
I had wanted to write something before now but I’ve had very little time and even less motivation. Going to Israel is an odd experience for me; I honestly don’t know how to react to it. It’s exciting to think that I’ll get to walk where Jesus walked, but I don’t want to be naive and think that walking where He walked is the same thing as following Him (Mark 8:34, John 10:27).
Jesus changes people, traveling doesn’t. I also don’t want to say that He won’t use this trip to change me; I pray that He will and suspect the same. What I’m most excited about is that this will not be my last trip to Israel. One of our professors, Mr. Hardesty, likes to point out that we should get used to Israel since we will be spending all of eternity there. Jesus, after He died in my place and took my punishment, rose again. One day He will make all things new and raise from the dead all who put their hope in Him an His work. At that time there will be what Revelation 21 calls a New Jerusalem.
The New Jerusalem will be much better than the old one that we get to see. It won’t be fought over, because Jesus will be King of everything. There won’t be mourning, crying, or pain because those things died with Jesus. Best of all, because Jesus was declared to be God’s Son in His resurrection (Romans 1:4), we’ll also be declared to be children of God when He raises us (Romans 8:23). We’ll be with our older Brother Jesus and God our Father forever (Revelation 21:7).
What we’re doing in visiting Israel, walking the land, is like a preview. It’s going to be amazing, but it’s at best a trailer. The most amazing thing is yet to come for all who profess Jesus as Messiah. All that said, I absolutely cannot wait to start seeing the trailer when we get to Israel tomorrow.
